Got a call with a recorded voice pretending to be from the HMRC, telling me there’s a fraud probe linked to my name and to press 1 to sort it out. Didn’t even wait, just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam!

Got a call pretending to be from HMRC saying if I didn’t press 1, I’d get an arrest warrant. As if they’d come knocking just like that... Who actually stops these fraudsters? - Caller ID: HMRC

Just before Christmas, I got one of these dodgy calls claiming to be HMRC. Still no word from the police after reporting it. Got another ring today from someone saying they're Maxwell Smith or something like that, going on and on. Quite frustrating!

I got a call from this number with a recorded message claiming to be from the tax office, saying I was being investigated and if I didn’t press a key I’d be arrested. I just hung up straight away, then rang HMRC on their official number I found on their website. They confirmed it’s a scam and told me the real tax office never leaves automated messages like that. If you get a call from this number, don’t pick up or follow their instructions. Just block and ignore it.

I got a call from a person who insisted they were from HMRC. They told me there’s an arrest warrant out for me because of tax evasion. They said I could either pay £2600 straight away or face going to court with a solicitor. Felt really dodgy to me.

Just received a ring from 03002003781. I hit 1 like they said, and I got through to what sounded like a busy office with a few people chatting loudly in Indian accents. No one actually spoke to me, but it definitely didn’t sound like the HMRC fraud department. Very dodgy.

Got a call earlier pretending to be from HMRC. Don’t even bother staying on the line or pressing any buttons. They’re just trying to scam you. HMRC doesn’t handle fraud investigations through automated calls, so hang up immediately if you hear this kind of thing.

Just like others mentioned, I got an automated call saying it was HMRC chasing me for some fraud I supposedly did. Total rubbish! I blocked that number straight away. Couldn't believe the cheek.

I saw the number but never picked up ‘cause it looked dodgy. After checking the reviews here, I’ve just blocked it for good.

This was just like others have mentioned. Got a recorded call pretending to be from HMRC saying if I didn’t press 1 I’d be “arrested soon”. Sure, and I’m just sitting here waiting for the cops to turn up! I’m pretty sure they won’t show unless I go and do something illegal. Number’s blocked now. It’s scary how some folks fall for this nonsense and end up getting scammed.

Someone just rang me saying they're from HMRC and that my account had been compromised or something along those lines. I told them where to go and ended the call because there's no way HMRC would get in touch like that.

I've had calls from this same number 300 200 3781 a couple of times now. I tried ringing back but got nothing. After looking it up, it's clear they're running some kind of scam. They've just altered a digit to make it seem like it's from the Inland Revenue. Definitely a dodgy phone scam and should be shut down for good. - caller: Inland Revenue
