I got a call just now from an automated voice claiming I was under tax fraud investigation, and it told me to press '1' to speak to someone from HMRC. I didn't press anything, and the call ended straight away.

Beware, its a scam calling from India pretending to be HMRC! Don't fall for it or send them any money. The call centre's just trying to con you, so stay sharp and don't get caught out.

I wouldn’t pick up if I were you. If you happen to answer, whatever you do, don’t hit 1. Seriously, just bad news.

Got a call from this number and honestly it was quite creepy. The prompt said to press 1 but I’m almost certain you shouldn’t ever do that. The number seemed like it was from some official place but I highly doubt its genuine. Definitely something fishy going on here.

I hit 1 since I've been sorting stuff with HMRC and Universal Credit lately, so I figured it could be legit. A guy answered who knew my full name and said I was involved in some tax fraud and even mentioned an arrest warrant. My signal was rubbish, so I told him to call me back in like 15 minutes once I left the woods, but never got a call again. That’s when I looked up the number and got suspicious. I’m really curious how they managed to get all my personal info.

Got a call from this number saying they’re from HMRC and threatening to arrest me unless I press 1. Couple of things: the voice sounded robotic. If it was really HMRC, they’d have my name and business info and would actually confirm who I am. They’d also contact me properly by post at my registered address. Whoever this is, they’re up to no good. Absolutely DO NOT answer or press 1 if you get a call like this. It’s a scam, stay alert everyone!
