Got two calls from this number today around 2.13pm but no voicemail left. I was busy teaching, so I didn’t pick up. I've blocked the number now. Really appreciate all the info shared here before. I always sort my taxes, being a teacher in a government-linked job, it’s not really optional and honestly, I wouldn’t even know how to dodge it. So yeah, blocked!

Later he started saying weird stuff about wanting to have sex with me! I got really annoyed and just hung up. Honestly, don’t pick up if you get a call from 0300 200 3162.

I had a gut feeling this was dodgy, so I stayed on the line. A person claiming to be from the Newcastle HMRC contacted me, saying I had to pay exactly £1,500 or else I’d be arrested. They warned me not to hang up or it would make things worse. The caller’s name was Amber Dawson. When I mentioned I was recording the conversation, she just cut off the call straight away. Total scam! I really hope no one else gets caught out by this.

Got a call pretending to be HMRC with the same recorded message, threatening arrest if I didn't push a button straight away. Seemed dodgy to me since I doubt my phone number is even on their list. Plus, if someone was driving or busy, would they really go straight to arrest without warning? It's pretty smart and scary, no doubt it tricks lots of people. Why don’t the phone companies step in and block these calls?

I get these calls quite a lot, so one time I thought I’d just play along and chat with whoever was on the line. They connected me to a bloke called Sam Parker, who quickly dropped a supposed HMRC badge number. After listening to his rehearsed spiel, I told him I was recording everything and would be sending it straight to the HMRC fraud team’s email. Right after that, he cut me off. So now, who exactly am I meant to talk to about sorting out my fraud situation?
