I got a call from a lady claiming there was a warrant for my arrest over some income tax fraud. When I told her I actually don't have a job, she just ended the call straight away.

I just had one of these calls too and reported it straight to HMRC. This morning, a woman called me threatening that I'd be arrested if I didn’t sort out some unpaid tax from the last four years. When I asked her to send proof in writing, she hung up immediately. You really should contact HMRC directly about this. They have a specific email for reporting phone and email scams: [email protected] If loads of us report these calls, maybe HMRC will take action, and the police might step in. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets tricked by this, so it seriously needs to be stopped.

Near the end of that article, there’s a link that takes you straight to the Police Fraud website. It's pretty straightforward and won’t take much time at all. Don’t forget to include the number they used to call you since these scammers often fake real numbers. There's no need to create an account; just hit the ‘Report Fraud’ option at the top of their page.

Got a call from 0300 200 3081 and it was an automated voice. Never heard of this one before. They were saying I’d be arrested if I didn’t hit 1. Best thing is just to ignore and hang up if you receive a call from that number.

Got a robocall claiming to be from HMRC saying I’m involved in some tax fraud and that I need to press 1 to talk to an officer or they’ll send a warrant and have me arrested soon. Didn’t fall for it, called 101 to tell West Midlands police about it, but they just didn’t seem bothered and said there wasn’t much they could do. Really frustrating.

I received a ring from 0300 200 0381 recently. I held on instead of pressing 1, hoping to speak to a person. I didn’t share any details since I’m confident my employer sorts my taxes properly. When I requested they send me a letter or something in writing, the lady just hung up on me. This kind of behaviour is sketchy and should definitely be reported.
