I received a voicemail from this number claiming to be from H.M.R.C, warning me that if I didn’t press 1, my call wouldn’t be documented and a warrant would be issued for my arrest. Quite concerning! However, this number doesn’t correspond with any of the official contacts listed on the H.M.R.C. website. Definitely sounds fishy to me!

Somebody calling, saying they’re from HMRC and threatening arrest for fraud. Has anyone else had this? I’m wondering what actually happens if you pick up or reply to these calls?

Received a ring from this number, some bloke claiming to be from HMRC, saying there was a warrant out for me over income tax dodging. When I questioned him, he went on about my employer not paying up and that I'd get nicked, telling me to get a criminal lawyer. I asked him to name my employer and suddenly he got really sharp. Told him I’d hang up and report them to the coppers, he kept trying to talk but I just slammed the phone down.

They rang me and I just hung up straight away. Then they called once more. I picked up and there was this weird, fuzzy robotic voice on the other end. Seems like it’s probably a scam or something dodgy.

Over the past half year, I've been getting these calls non-stop on both my mobile and landline. They keep probing for personal info, which is clearly dodgy. I reckon it's all just scams, so I usually just hang up and block them. Stay safe out there!

Replying to the previous post about what might happen if you pick up or reply to this - honestly, nothing will happen directly to you. These folks are just scammers trying to trick you. Best thing to do is hang up and never share any details about yourself.

I've had a call from a recorded message saying it was HMRC and I had to respond right away. It's clearly just another scam. Honestly, why are the cops always stuck on catching drivers when they could be after these scammers instead? Drives me mad!
