I had an unsettling experience today when I got a call from that same number again. Foolishly, I pressed 1, and then the caller asked me to verify my address, which I unwittingly did. The chap then claimed he’d got the wrong person, and when I questioned how he had my information if that were the case, he abruptly hung up. I’m quite anxious now, having revealed my address to them. It was a lapse in judgement on my part, driven by the panic of the moment, as I was just trying to sort things out. Does anyone have any idea what they might do with my address?

I received a recorded call claiming I was under investigation for fraud by HMRC. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to engage a bit. When I remarked that if they were calling me, they ought to know who I was, the response was a rather vulgar “f*ck you, you f*cking c*nt.” At that point, it was abundantly clear this was definitely not a legitimate HMRC call - just another scam!

I received an automated call claiming to be from HMRC, warning me about some tax fraud attributed to my name. It raised my suspicions straight away, yet I pressed the button out of curiosity. Almost instantly, a very rapid-talking gentleman with an Indian accent picked up, and the background noise suggested a busy call centre environment. When I inquired about his identity, the call suddenly dropped. Definitely a SCAM!
