So today I got a call from this number, and without thinking I pressed 1. They then asked me to verify my address, which I ended up giving them. Afterwards, the caller suddenly said they had the wrong person, but when I asked how they had my details if that was true, they just hung up on me. I’m feeling pretty anxious now since I shared my address. I guess I was just panicking and trying to sort it out, but I feel so dumb for trusting them. Does anyone have an idea what they could use my address for?

Got a robo call claiming I was being looked into for fraud by HMRC. I decided to mess with them a bit and mentioned that if they were legit, they’d know my identity. The response was a big fat ‘f*ck you you f*cking c*nt’ - pretty obvious it wasn’t an actual HMRC person. Definitely a scammer!

Got a robocall telling me it was HMRC and to "press 1" because apparently I had some tax fraud on my record. Kinda fishy from the start but I pressed 1 anyway. Then this guy with a thick Indian accent came on the line talking super quick, background noise like a busy call centre. I asked who he was and the call just dropped straight away. Total scam, watch out!
