My partner got a phone call warning him about tax fraud and told to press 1 or he'd get arrested. He did press 1, but then the call just ended. When he tried ringing back, the number wasn’t even recognised. Because he struggles with mental health, including psychosis, this call really upset him badly. These scammers need to be stopped, they’re causing so much distress to vulnerable people. Honestly, it’s completely unacceptable and the people doing this should seriously be ashamed of themselves.

Got a call from an automated voice claiming to be HMRC, saying I had to "press 1 immediately" or I'd be arrested. If you get a number like this ring you, don't press anything! HMRC would never call harassing you like that. Definitely a scam!
