Got a robotic call telling me I was involved in tax fraud or something, then they just cut off - yeah, 100% felt like a scam.

Usually, if it’s really important, they tend to leave a voicemail. After that, you can look them up if you’re unsure who they are.

Got a call on my phone today from 0300 200 1429. It was one of them robotic voices saying I was involved in some tax scam and told me to press 1 right away or I'd get arrested soon. Naturally, I ignored it and won't fall for that nonsense, but I can see how older or more trusting people might get scared by this. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I've had calls from them too, claiming it's about taxes. They tell you to hit 1, but don't fall for it! The tax office would send you a letter, not call. The number they use is 03002001492.
