Got a call earlier with some robotic voice that sounded like stephen hawking or something, rattling on about a tax fraud case from hmrc. It felt dodgy straight away, so i just ended the call. Had a look on here afterwards and glad i trusted my gut!

got a call from someone pretending to be hmrc, saying i'd be arrested for tax dodging unless i sent them cash. felt really dodgy so i blocked the number straight away. total scam, no doubt about it! make sure to report these calls so others don’t get tricked!

Just a heads up, you might get a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, telling you there’s a problem with your tax refund or that you’ve got unpaid taxes. They could even leave a voicemail asking you to return the call. Don’t fall for it though. HMRC doesn’t contact folks like that and they won’t ask for personal stuff like your bank info over the phone.

So there’s this scam going around at the moment where you get a voicemail that sounds like it’s from HMRC. The message says you’re being taken to court and that they’re gonna sue you. It then urges you to ring back and press 1 to talk to the officer handling your ‘case’. Loads of reports are popping up about this, and it looks like older folks are the main targets.

i got a call from someone saying they were with hmrc and that i'd face arrest for tax fraud if i didn’t pay up. they told me that if i settled the 'debt' right there on the phone, the arrest warrant would be cancelled. honestly, such a silly trick - real hmrc would never ring you like that out of the blue.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, threatening me with arrest if I didn’t pay up straight away. They said the cops were already on their way! Absolutely ridiculous scare tactics.
