Got a letter saying someone reported me moving house and asking me to ring a certain number. Since I’d set up mail redirection with Royal Mail, it looks like they got my details that way. The letter said it was from B&CE, but then they wanted me to complete a form with my full name, postcode, phone, email and signature. Honestly, felt super sketchy and risky.

I got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent who said she'd connect me to a chief officer. Then some bloke claiming he was from HMRC started chatting, and what freaked me out was he already knew my name! He kept saying if I didn’t pay right away over the phone, the police would be at my door within a day to arrest me. I just ended the call straight away ’cause I could tell it was all a load of rubbish.

Got a call from some guy named Tommy, saying he was from HMRC with a really thick Indian accent. He claimed I was going to be arrested if I didn’t sort out some unpaid taxes on the spot. Proper dodgy! Honestly, I can see how folks might get scared and fall for it. Felt pretty threatening, not gonna lie. Ended up blocking the number straight away. It’s obviously a scam. Make sure you report these so others don’t get caught out!

Saw some missed calls from this number so I decided to ring back. A robotic American lady answered saying they were all tied up, so I just ended the call. Later on, I got another call from them claiming it was HMRC saying there's a warrant for my arrest because of fraud. I didn't even bother, just hung up and blocked the number straight away. Honestly, HMRC never phones like that!
