When I pick up the phone, there's complete silence on the other end.

I picked up the phone to a chap with a foreign accent who suspiciously knew my name. He started rambling on about pensions, but I cut him off, saying I'm not interested in whatever nonsense he's peddling. I made it clear I don’t want any further calls. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!
