It seems these individuals are somehow affiliated with the Student Loans Company, as they do provide accurate information regarding student loans. In my experience, they've been ringing me after hours, typically around 6:30 in the evening. They've sent me letters insisting that I should start repayments, despite the fact that I’m currently unemployed due to impending surgery and a spinal injury. They've mentioned a hefty sum of over £430 weekly that I supposedly owe to the Student Loans Company or one of its partners. When I declined this offer, they accused me of defaulting, claiming there has been an overpayment-a fact I was only just hearing about from them since my graduation in 2018. I made it clear that I won't engage with them any further, as the law stipulates repayment is only necessary once I secure employment. I even asked them to send me formal summons so I could discuss it with my legal counsel. They keep calling from a multitude of different numbers, which I diligently block on a near-daily basis. While I suspect they may be legitimate employees of the Student Loans Company, their behaviour raises alarm bells for me. I believe it's imperative that the Anti-Fraud Unit of the British Police is notified about this situation.

Even though they called me and knew my name, I had recently got a letter about an overpayment. If you pick up, they'll try to get more of your personal details. DO NOT PICK UP! THIS IS A RISKY SCAM!

I received a call claiming I owed a hefty sum of £5,000 to the Student Loans Company. Straight off the bat, they hit me with security questions, but I mentioned I wasn’t at ease divulging personal info, especially since I hadn’t initiated the call! I informed them that I'd not received any correspondence from the SLC, which made me hesitant to proceed any further. So, I hopped onto my SLC account and found no updates, leading me to conclude this must be a dodgy scam. Quite slick, really - if you try ringing them back, it cleverly routes you to an SLC message.

Got a call claiming to be from the Student Loans Company in Glasgow asking for someone named Aaron Liddle? The accent was hard to get, sounded foreign. No one by that name has ever used this number. I rang SLC and they said the number 03001000369 isn’t one they use. Seems pretty much like a scam call to me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the student loan repayment service. They wanted my info but couldn’t confirm my landline number or the exact amount I owed. The guy sounded Scottish, which fits because the student finance offices are located in Scotland. I ended up arranging a direct debit with them. Right after, I rang student finance myself to check my payment dates. Turns out, they had the direct debit set up in their system and confirmed the payment schedule I’d sorted on the initial call.

I received a call from this number, and the person on the other end began probing me with questions. When I inquired about their identity, they stated they were from a student loans company. They then requested my date of birth, which I foolishly provided. Right after I did, they abruptly ended the call. It feels like a definite scam aimed at extracting my personal or login information. This smells like a scam to me. The positive reviews look dodgy and don't offer any real evidence it's from SFE or SLC. I reckon the ones leaving good feedback are probably involved with the scam itself. Don't share any personal details with them. Better to get in touch directly through the official SFE site to check on your student loan status, and definitely don’t hand over your CRN or any private info. The negative feedback seems way more believable here.

As soon as I answered, the caller launched into a series of so-called "security questions". They were rather evasive about the reason for their call. I suggested they send me an email instead, but they flatly refused, claiming they "don't currently have that capability". But I just logged into my SFE account and saw the payment was taken out exactly on the date they mentioned, and for the same amount.
