03000561750 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03000561750 👆 is reported as a suspicious caller pretending to be from HMRC. The person seemed to have limited knowledge, didn’t ask for proper verification, and used a slightly threatening tone about a supposed VAT error. The call was made to a personal mobile, which seemed unusual given VAT matters normally go through work lines. The caller changed story quickly upon realising they were speaking to a man, then asked for someone else claiming to have got the number from a university, which users found highly dubious. Overall, it feels like a scam targeting vulnerable people with poor manners and dubious tactics.

I got a call from 03000561750, someone saying they were from HMRC. They only seemed to know a few bits about me and didn’t bother asking for any proof or details. They told me I might be facing a fine over a VAT issue, which felt odd since any VAT stuff usually comes through my work phone, not my personal mobile. The whole thing felt dodgy, not like an official government call at all. Plus, their tone was a bit menacing and gave me a really uneasy feeling.

At first, the bloke claimed he was calling from HMRE, but as soon as he realised he was chatting to a bloke like me, he quickly switched gears and started asking for Rachel, saying he got my number from Royal Holloway University. Sounds like they’re after folks who're easy to fool. I had a really bad feeling about it straight away - the guy’s voice was proper thick, like he didn’t know what he was on about!
