I quickly figured out that this was a dodgy caller attempting to pull a fast one on me, rather than a legitimate HMRC number. They kept urging me to hit 1 to discuss some supposed tax evasion matter with my "case officer." What a cheek!

Every day, I get calls from someone with an Indian accent asking about our supplier. No matter how many times I say we’re not interested, they just don’t get it and say they’ll ring again tomorrow!

Said they were from HMRC, but there’s no way that was legit. Totally a scam.
