Got a call from a bloke who didn’t speak much English. Said he was calling from HMRC, asking if I’d got any letters from them because apparently they’d been trying to reach me. He knew my name and address, which was a bit odd. When he asked again about the letters, I told him I hadn’t received any. Then he wanted me to ring the local office, I said no and asked why he needed me to do that. I asked for my NI number and he gave me one, but it wasn’t mine. I told him that and the call just got cut off suddenly.

A couple weeks back I got this automated call saying I'd been caught up in some tax evasion thing. Totally dodgy, so don’t bother answering. The one I got came from a call centre in India or somewhere like that. Honestly, someone really needs to put an end to these scams.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, sounded like an Indian lady with a strong accent. She said if I didn't press 1 to connect, I'd be arrested for fraud within a day. Definitely a scam, just ignore it!
