3 yearsOn the 12th of July 2023, at about 3:46 pm, I got a call from 02922647564. I picked up but there was just silence on the other end. After a few seconds, around 4, with nobody speaking, the caller just dropped the call. I ended up blocking the number. When I looked it up later, I saw loads of others had the same weird quiet calls from that number, so thought I’d share my experience too.3 yearsJust got another call pretending to be from Microsoft, luckily hung up and blocked it straight away.Microsoft3 yearsI just got a call from 02922647564 and they claimed to be from Microsoft, saying there was something wrong with my laptop or computer. Bit annoying, didn’t even really make much sense.Microsoft3 yearsGot a call from a woman saying she was with Microsoft and that my computer had errors that needed fixing. She claimed to have my special Licence Security Code - CLSID\{888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062} - which I knew isn’t unique, it’s on all Microsoft PCs. When I called her out on the scam, she threatened to block my computer and said I’d have to pop into the Microsoft office in Reading the next morning to get it sorted. She wasn’t able to tell me my IP address when I asked, which was a dead giveaway. I just wished her luck trying to block anything and she hung up straight away!MicrosoftReading3 yearsI got a call telling me my debit card details were sent overseas, so I just ended the call.3 yearsGot called 3 times in just a few days from numbers showing English names but with a really heavy Indian accent. They keep saying they're from some company called “3 g” - which I don’t think is real - or from Voda fone, trying to get me to lower my bill by 30%. When I pretended to be interested, they’d always hand me over to a “supervisor” who claimed to be located in Reading or London but couldn’t give a proper address. Seemed really dodgy to me.3GVodafoneReadingLondon3 yearsGot a call from this number today, the moment I picked up, they just dropped the line.
