Got a couple of calls saying there was an issue with my broadband, claiming to be Virgin Media. They called me twice yesterday and then twice more today. I double-checked and found out it wasn’t Virgin Media at all, plus my internet is working perfectly. These scammers are quite pushy though, so I‘m going to block the number before they try anything else. Definitely a sneaky trick that could fool some people.

When I told them I didn’t have to take their call, they insisted I had no choice because they were from Microsoft and that I’d been hacked. They even threatened to block my computer completely because I wouldn’t speak to them. I’ve had dodgy calls like this before, but this time the person was very forceful right away, which was quite unsettling.

Got a call from this number around 11:21 this morning. They were talking about some solar panel offer, saying they picked 4 homeowners nearby. When asked if I liked the idea, I said it sounded alright but I wasn’t interested in signing up. The person on the phone said thanks and then hung up. Reading other reviews, it looks like this might be a scam. I always make sure not to agree to anything from cold callers.

On a kinda related note, watch out for emails pretending to be from Santander that look really real and even have your postcode and name on it. Don’t click on anything saying “My details and settings.” I clicked that link by mistake and nearly got my money stolen, but luckily Santander caught it in time and froze my account.
