Exactly the same thing happened to me. They never used my name but said they were ringing from Vodafone and offered a 30% discount as a reward for being a loyal customer. Then they wanted me to verify I was the account holder and the one who pays the bills. Next, they asked for the email address linked to the account. I said straight up I wasn’t comfortable sharing that info. They pressed me again, and I kept saying no, explaining that I didn’t know if they were really from Vodafone since they called me out of the blue. The caller hung up, saying they’d try again later. These calls started coming in today from all sorts of firms like Currys and Vodafone - it's clearly a scam. Such dodgy behaviour, they really need to find proper work!
