i got a call from a really polite woman claiming she was from ocean finance, saying my phone deal was about to finish and i had to renew it. i’m with 02 and their app always reminds me when my contract ends and when to sort a new one, like ive done before. my contract actually lasts another year and a half, so i quickly worked out this was just a scam trying to catch me out.

I received a rather courteous call from a woman claiming to be with Ocean Finance, informing me that my phone contract was nearing its conclusion and that I needed to consider renewing it. However, I’m currently with O2, and I have an app that notifies me well in advance when it’s time to renew, just as I’ve done previously. My contract doesn’t expire for another year and a half, so it was clear to me that this was just a scam attempt.

So this morning I got a call from a different number, supposedly about my O2 contract. I've never had O2 ring me up about my phone before, so I'm pretty sure it's just another spam call. Bit odd really.
