I chose not to engage and have since blocked the number. I was hoping to obtain an illustration for life insurance directly from Aegon, which used to be known as Scottish Equitable. The moment I reached out, I was bombarded with calls from these folks. While I can't definitively label the call as unsolicited, it certainly wasn't what I had anticipated.

They’re pushing insurance and seem completely indifferent to whether you’re on the Telephone Preference Service list or not. It’s like they just keep rambling on!

The caller identified themselves as Smart Money. Right away, they dove into a discussion about life insurance. I quickly interjected with a polite, "Thanks, but that's not really my cup of tea. Cheerio!" Even though they tried to press on, I decided to hang up. Thankfully, no follow-up call came through.
