At about 11:14 this morning, I got a call on my landline from 02690946882. The bloke on the other end sounded Asian and said his name was Steve. He kept saying he’d keep ringing me unless I heard him out. I just told him I was gonna hang up and then ended the call.

I've been getting loads of calls on my landline for ages, even though I'm on the TPS. Started using this service about a year and a half ago and since then, the calls have pretty much stopped. Feeling pretty pleased with how it's worked out.

Got a call from someone called Sophie, she was really smooth and polite at first. But as soon as I said no to handing over my bank info, she started threatening me with a CCJ because apparently my number was listed on loads of sites, mostly in India - like 117 of them or something. When I started chuckling, she totally changed and got quite rude. I can’t even type what I said back to her! Eventually she just hung up. Definitely felt like a massive scam.

I received a call earlier today from someone who was adamant I should fork out £49.99 to end those pesky nuisance calls. What a cheeky scam! They even had the audacity to say I'd be handed over to their “non-payment department” if I didn’t comply. I told them I'd report them to Trading Standards and promptly ended the call. They can try their luck, but this is exactly why it's vital to keep your personal information to yourself online!

Got a call from someone trying to charge me £49.99 for blocking calls. Sounded pretty legit, but I told her no way I’m paying that. If she rings back, I’ll just tell her to get lost.

I received an unexpected call claiming I was part of a list comprising 124 businesses, and they insisted I pay £49.99 as a one-time fee to halt their incessant phone calls. When I politely declined, the woman became rather abrupt, threatening to escalate my account to a non-payment department before hanging up just as I was about to express my objections. I initially believed that the service was complimentary; there was absolutely no mention of any charges at the outset. Sounds to me like a bit of dodgy business, if you ask me!

I've received a rather dubious call from what seems to be a scam operation based in Wales. They were attempting to squeeze £49.99 out of me for a service to block pesky telephone calls. Quite suspect if you ask me!

Got a call earlier from this lot saying I owe £49.99 to stop annoying calls coz apparently my number is on lists in 117 countries. When I said I'd check with my bank, the woman got really rude and started getting stroppy. She also lied about the app being free for a 30-day trial, said it wasn’t even a thing. Dodgy, if you ask me.

I received a rather curious call earlier today, demanding that I fork out £49.00 supposedly for handling nuisance calls. They mentioned something about being listed on 117 databases? However, we're ex-directory, so I'm baffled as to how they even got my number. I firmly declined their request for payment!

Had a lady ring me up today claiming I owed a one-off fee of £45. I told her I thought the call blocking service was supposed to be free, but she just brushed it off. Then she started asking for my card details. I refused and said I was about to hang up. I've already reported everything to BT.

They rung my mum, tried to get money off her, but she just told them to buzz off. Then they started saying they'd take her to court or something. My mum wasn't having any of it and told them to shove it once more.

My elderly father, who's 82 and has dementia, got a call from a woman whose name I didn't catch. She was threatening to disconnect his phone service, which really upset and confused him. I rang the number back but no one picked up, though I did leave a message. Just a heads up to be cautious if you get a call from this number or company.

So this lady named Sophie rang up pretending to be from the call preference service, saying we were listed on 117 sites and that for £49.99 she could stop those calls. She sounded really believable and tricked my mother-in-law into handing over the money. Once we found out, we quickly contacted the bank to block the payment. But Sophie kept charging my mother-in-law £49.99 each month. It’s a complete con, honestly, so steer well clear of this. We’ve sent reports and letters to the bank, hoping they’ll help put an end to these scammers targeting vulnerable folks.

I couldn’t find anything about a charge for blocking calls on their site, and the two emails they sent didn’t mention any fees either. Then they rang me saying they’d already done some work and wanted me to pay £49.99 right then and there to “stop calls forever”. Asking for card info out of the blue like that? No thanks. I just ended the call.

Honestly, it doesn’t seem like a scam to me. My brother actually paid up and since then, he hasn’t had any annoying calls bothering him. I got woken up super early today, like 8.10 am, by junk calls, so I’m gonna give it a go as well.

About a week back, I filled in an online form hoping to put an end to all those annoying calls. Then they wanted me to pay a one-off £49.99 fee to actually stop them from ringing again. Bit frustrating really.

I picked up a call today, and the person claimed that I was signed up to 117 different company websites abroad and demanded I fork out £49.99 to stop it. I turned them down, as I believed this was part of the Telephone Preference Service.

I'm absolutely sick to death of receiving endless calls from this number, be it on my mobile or at home. It's high time it came to a halt!

A few days back, I signed up online for the telephone preference service. Today, I got a call from a woman claiming they’d processed my request and discovered I was signed up on over 117 sites that send nuisance calls. Thinking it was legit, I went ahead and paid. Afterwards, I looked for a receipt and confirmation email, which I did receive. Later, I searched their number and found out it’s a scam. I contacted my bank to cancel my debit card, but they said they couldn’t stop a single payment that’s already gone through. Just a heads up, this scam is really well put together.

On 29/07/16, I filled out a form online with [email protected] trying to put an end to annoying calls on my mobile. Then, on 08/08/16, a woman rang me saying they'd looked into these nuisance calls and noticed I was signed up with loads of firms. She wanted me to pay £49.99 as a one-off fee to stop the calls permanently. When she asked for my address, I said no and also refused to pay. She insisted the charge was necessary since the work was already done, mentioned they'd pass my info to their admin team, and then hung up.

I received a phone call from this number at about half three this afternoon, on the 3rd of July, 2016. The person on the line, who introduced herself as Sophie, alleged to be representing TPS. She mentioned that she had seen my email concerning unwanted calls and that my number had been located among hundreds linked to 'sales-oriented businesses'. She offered to remove my number from their lists for a fee of £41.00 and requested my debit or credit card details. I declined, stating I didn't have my cards on hand. After rummaging through my sent emails, I couldn’t find anything that would have gone to such an entity. A quick search on the number revealed that many others have encountered similar scam attempts, hinting at a wider pattern. So, take note and stay alert!

At first she sounded really nice, but the moment I told her I wasn’t comfortable handing over my card info to some random caller and that I didn’t want to pay, she started saying they’d already done some work. I just said alright then, sorry about that, and hung up. (Tough luck for them)

I got a call from a woman who was really friendly at first, telling me she could remove me from some phone lists, but she wanted £49.99 for it. So this company says they’ll stop all my annoying calls for just about 40 quid. Seriously? If a bloke in Cardiff can figure out how to block spam calls, why the heck can’t BT do the same? Makes no sense to me.
