Got a call from these people saying they wanted to look over my life insurance, then they put me through to another group of financial advisors whose fees looked really pricey. Decided not to switch my policy in the end.

Said they were from life insurance and could offer me a cheaper deal. I told them I don’t have any and asked where they got my info from. They claimed I’d opted in, but I’ve never looked into life insurance or anything like that. I asked to be taken off their list and they were really rude, then just hung up on me. How on earth are they still able to get hold of this info with GDPR in place? Properly disgusting.

Got a call from a marketing rep who said they could connect me to a financial advisor in Manchester, but I’m based in Cardiff. Dunno how that’s supposed to work really. The lady seemed alright though.

Received a call from this Cardiff number earlier today. The bloke said because of some changes, they could reduce my life insurance cost. I thought it was my usual insurance firm, but then he handed me over to someone else who dropped the company name. That’s when I told them I wasn’t interested, but the second guy wouldn’t take no for an answer and got rather rude, so I just hung up and blocked the number.

Said they were selling on behalf of L&G and Aviva. I told them I used to work at an FCA regulated firm. Next thing, they just hung up on me. A few mins later, I hit "submit" on the FCA site, reporting their number :)

Got a call from 074594749594 with an automated message asking if I had life insurance. When I replied, another recorded message said someone would get in touch with me. Not long after, I got a real call from someone trying to get my info. I asked which company they worked for and she just hung up straight away.

They rang me once more today claiming to be from my life insurance provider. When I asked which firm, they said they’re linked with L & G, Royal London and Aviva. I then asked if any of these firms had shared my info with them, and pointed out that if they had, it would be breaking GDPR rules. That’s when they just hung up. Seriously, why won’t the FCA or the government step in and sort out these cheeky scammers?

Got two calls back to back, one from 07492 3842790 (seems like a dodgy number) then from 0161 455 7890 (Manchester). Both claimed to be Rachel and Daniel from something called the Life Insurance Review Dept (I don’t even have life insurance!). Ended the call with Daniel straight away, then told Rachel she was probably running some kind of scam. She got all defensive, started blabbing about her kids and then just cut me off.
