Got a call from some automated American lady claiming to be Officer Jennifer Brown from the Inland Revenue. She said it was really urgent and if I didn’t ring her department back or have my lawyer get in touch, there’d be serious legal trouble. Quite spooky to say the least.

I received a call just a short while ago, claiming to be from HMRC. They mentioned something about me being under investigation and prompted me to return the call to a number I can't quite remember. Honestly, I'm quite sceptical because I can't imagine HMRC would communicate important matters like this through an automated message. It all seems rather fishy to me.

This shook me up big time, honestly. It rang yesterday afternoon around 1.45 and I’m still shaken thinking about it now! They threatened me with arrest if I didn’t pay up by the end of the day, said I’d be dragged into court real soon. I was daft enough to almost send them £5,000 before I finally snapped out of it.

Just tell them to bugger off, simple as that.

Got a call supposedly from HMRC saying it was my last warning about some criminal charge. I didn’t bother calling the number back because the voicemail didn’t sound genuine at all. It was a bloke’s voice but had this weird echo effect, nothing like the real HMRC messages I’ve heard before. Felt really dodgy to me.

Some bloke called claiming to be from the Inland Revenue, saying I was due a £448 tax refund for last year. He then asked for my bank card details, which I wasn’t about to give out over the phone. When I said that, he just ended the call. I rang back and told him I’d be reporting him to the cops.

Got this voicemail on my phone saying it was my final notice about some criminal thing. I rang the number back, and a person said it was from HMRC and that I’d been given a £400 tax refund. They then asked for my bank details, but I told them no way and that I’d contact HMRC directly instead before hanging up. The message sounded really scary, and honestly, I’m a bit annoyed for actually calling back in the first place!

I got a voicemail with a recorded message saying I was facing a final warning for some crime. When I rang the number they gave, they said it was HMRC and that I was due a tax refund of £400. They then asked for my bank info, which I refused to give and told them I'd contact HMRC directly, then hung up. That message was pretty scary, and I’m a bit annoyed I actually called them back in the first place!

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, saying I was involved in some criminal stuff. When I asked what it was about, they said it had something to do with a rebate and then tried to get my card info. Don’t fall for it, just ignore and never share your details. As soon as I told them I knew it was a scam, they just ended the call.

I got a call from some robot voice telling me to ring back straight away to sort out some criminal case HMRC supposedly has against me. I could tell it was dodgy from the start. Also, if you pay attention when it’s playing, you can hear people chuckling and chatting like they’re just hanging out in a market or something. I’m gonna report this to the cops for sure. Luckily, I had my phone recording on, so I’ve got proof.
