About an hour prior to receiving that call mentioned above, I was on the line with 029 2161 7478, where an automated voice insisted it was from Microsoft, warning me that my internet connection had been compromised. It immediately struck me as rather dubious, so I decided to end the call. Not long after, I was greeted by a rather foreign-sounding individual from 029 2022 8620 who began to regale me with the very same tale. Naturally, I hung up once more. This isn’t the first rodeo if you understand my meaning; I've previously been bombarded with automated messages, only to be followed shortly by a live caller claiming affiliation with Microsoft. The initial instance was several months back, and when I pushed back on the individual, they promptly severed the line. I’ve certainly not found any of this convincing, and there’s been nary a thing amiss with my internet or computer since to make me reconsider my stance. I’ve taken the precaution of blocking both numbers now.
