I received a rather intriguing call from someone purporting to be with Microsoft. She insisted I needed to pay attention because what she had to say was of utmost importance. According to her, our computer was on the verge of being shut down, and didn’t I want to understand the reason behind it? When I suggested that this might be a scam, she vehemently denied it. I decided to hang up, but not long after, she rang back, emphasising just how crucial it was that I stayed on the line. Naturally, I chose to disconnect yet again. The phone buzzed one last time, but I wasn’t tempted to answer.
