Got a few calls from someone saying they were from TalkTalk, said there was an issue with our router and they wanted to help fix it. My missus told the bloke to maybe try booking a holiday abroad instead, then just hung up. We ended up turning the router off for a good part of the afternoon anyway.

today i received a couple of calls from this number, both saying they were from my ‘internet service’. when i asked which company they said a name i’ve never heard or used before. really fishy if you ask me.

I got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was with Windows, telling me my computer was at risk. I told him I didn’t own a computer, and then he started threatening to block my Windows access or something. That’s when I just ended the call.

This number’s from the Northern Isles. I’ve just got one of those call blockers now, so all these annoying calls get stopped straight away. Still, the real problem is that BT and others let this kind of thing go on, which is just not fair on folk who are more likely to get caught out. Something definitely needs to be done about it.

Got a call from someone claiming our internet router was hacked and they needed some info. The voice sounded like it came from a hectic call centre. When I asked which company they were with, they said TalkTalk. I told them we don’t use TalkTalk and ended the call straight away.

Over the past few days, I kept getting robotic calls from this number but no one ever answered when I picked up. One time, someone claimed to be from TalkTalk and asked if I was having a nice day. They promised it wouldn’t take long, but I hung up straight away. Definitely felt like the start of a scam.

Received a call from someone pretending to be from an internet service company, telling me there’s a problem with my internet router no matter which phone I answered on. I reckon it’s their way of either
1) Gaining control of your router remotely
2) Stealing your personal info for fraud
3) Trying to get your bank or card details
4) Setting up for a bigger scam or hacking attack
5) Possibly all these things.

Best advice? Just hang up immediately.

Got a call from someone claiming our internet was compromised. They told us to install some program so they could fix the issue, then they started running some commands on the screen. Before we knew it, they wanted our bank details, which made us hang up straight away. Later, we contacted TalkTalk and they said it was definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Talk Talk, telling me my router was sending error alerts. I told them I wasn’t with Talk Talk, but they said they handle BT, Virgin, and loads of other providers too. It’s a scam - these people just want your banking info and to get into your PC. Don’t trust them!

Today, I got a phone call from this number, and the person claimed they were from TalkTalk, saying my computer had a virus. But I’m pretty sure it wasn’t really TalkTalk because they never call you out of the blue like that. If TalkTalk needs to ring, they usually let you know beforehand, and only if there’s an issue with their service. I often get more than ten calls from these scammers, each time with different phone numbers. Don’t fall for their nonsense or hand over any personal info!
