Just got a call from 02894106108, some bloke with a thick Asian accent who gave a fake English name. Claimed to be from Microsoft’s tech support, saying my computer was compromised. Classic scam, obviously trying to trick you into handing over personal info for banking fraud and that sort of rubbish. I let him ramble for a bit before telling him bluntly to jog on, haha. Don’t fall for these con artists - they’re just out to nick your cash. He got a bit stroppy when I called him a scammer, but I just ignored it and ended the call.

Got a call from an Asian man who spoke English okay. He said he was from the EDF billing team and that I was due a refund for paying too much. Thing is, he didn’t have my EDF account details or my address right, and after a bit of back and forth, he just ended the call.

I played along and mentioned that I’m 92 years of age and would consult my son, a detective inspector with West Midlands Police, to return the call. He promptly ended the conversation.
