It was a recorded message telling me that my phone line was being used in a dodgy way and warned me it’d be cut off unless I pressed 1 or 2 immediately to talk to BT. Proper scared me for a bit!BT2 yearsMy landline rang but I decided not to pick up, thought it was probably some kind of scam.3 yearsGot a call from this number, and a robotic voice said my internet was being used for illegal stuff. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number without thinking twice.3 yearsOn 25th July, 2023, my landline rang from 0289 2611234. A recorded message came on with a British female voice saying there was strange activity on my bank account. They said someone had taken out £300 and £1,500, which apparently was odd for my account. The message asked me to press 1 if I approved these transactions or 2 to talk to an advisor. I've had calls like this from many different numbers before, and I’m aware it’s a scam, so I just hung up and blocked the number.
