They hung up just as I was about to pick up the call.

I received a call from someone with an Asian accent who was touting free solar panels. There was a noticeable lag between my greeting and his response, which immediately raised my suspicions about the legitimacy of the number-likely a dodgy overseas contact or a spoofed line, I reckon. When I mentioned the possibility of him being a scammer, he fell silent as if he was just biding his time for me to hang up. I, however, have learned to stay on the line until they've officially disconnected; I’ve heard that hanging up prematurely means they don’t have to pay for the call, hence their prolonged silence. A word of caution: steer clear of unknown numbers, as they could lead to exorbitant charges!

A woman with a foreign accent picked up the phone. As soon as I inquired how she obtained my mobile number, she abruptly terminated the call! Claimed to be representing a green solar energy company. Definitely a scam!
