My other half got a call from 02886010707 and we had no clue who it was. I looked it up on my phone and saw it was a scam. So I told them to block that number straight away. They don’t even have an Amazon or Amazon Prime account. Honestly, I’d say don’t pick up on any numbers you don’t know. Always double-check who’s calling you. And if you get scams like this, make sure to report them. Also, pass the info on to the proper scam watchdogs to help put a stop to this rubbish.

Absolute Amazon scam! They phoned me claiming someone made a Prime account using my details but kept calling me 'madame' instead of using my actual name. When I asked them to verify the email linked to the account, the guy got all irritated and said, 'listen madame, do you want your money back or not?' No reputable company would talk to you like that! I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said I had to cancel an Amazon order by noting down some number. Thing is, I don't even have Amazon! I told her this, but she wouldn’t believe me. Got a call from someone saying they stopped a big payment from going through my bank. They wanted me to download some remote control app - don’t do it! They’ll be able to get into everything on your phone or computer. Just ignore the call, no point answering.

Got a call saying I’d purchased an iPhone 7 and that if it wasn’t me, I should cancel it right away. I asked how I couldn’t see anything on my account about it and told them to tell me the email linked to my account. Then they just ended the call. 028 8601 0707 - was constantly ringing like every 5 minutes while I was busy at work so I didn’t pick up. The next day it kept happening, so I finally answered and got an Asian woman on the line saying she was from Amazon about an iPhone I supposedly bought for £399! I told her I never did that, called her a scammer and she just hung up. Blocked the number immediately after.

Really pushy caller - said they were from Amazon Prime about a phone order. Kept texting me an OTP code while I was questioning them on the call. The same number had sent me links before to confirm sign-ins. Definitely a scam alert.

Got a phone call real early, I picked up but stayed quiet until the caller spoke. Seemed like an elderly gentleman asking something about Amazon??
Try not to say "yes" too much on calls like this, it’s a trick to get your voice saying it so they can use it without permission. They might record you saying yes and then misuse it to fish out your banking info or other personal stuff.

This number has rang me several times over the last few days. I answered once today and some guy with an Indian accent said his name was Tommy and that he was calling from Amazon’s security team. I told him to stop calling me, ended the call, and blocked the number. Amazon’s own site says they don’t make calls like this. Definitely a scam.

Got a call pretending to be Amazon, said someone tried to make a £1000 purchase and they’d blocked it, was told to press 1 and all that. I just hung up and sent an email to Amazon. They replied and were really helpful, took it seriously. Since then, I’ve had a few similar ones from other phone numbers. It was really believable and caught me off guard at first.

First call I got was some robot voice saying I'd allegedly ordered something for £499.00 and if it wasn’t me, press 1, claiming it was from Amazon. I just hung up. Next time, it was a woman with a strong Asian accent pretending to be from Amazon about Prime and charging about £79 a month, or something like that. Told her I’ve never even had an Amazon account and barely got the words out before she cut off.
