Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Energy Advice Centre, talking about solar panels. Their site seems genuine enough, but weirdly it doesn’t match the phone number they called from, so maybe it’s not even the same company. This number has also said before they sell health gear, so whether they’re just shady brokers or straight-up scammers, I’m not taking any chances. I’ve blocked the number now, and I’d reckon you might want to do the same.

Got a call from a woman with a thick Chinese accent, trying to push a GPS Medical Alert that would supposedly call an ambulance and doctor if you fell. Honestly, good luck waiting for an ambulance to get there in time with that! She was really keen on finding out my first name, DOB and even wanted to check my address to send the “free” gadget out. Felt like they’re trying to reel in elderly folks but mostly just gathering personal info for identity theft. Watch out for this one!

After the usual pause and that blurred background hubbub you get with call centres, a lady with a foreign accent came on the line claiming to be from some sort of “medical service.” Honestly, her accent and my dodgy hearing made it hard to catch everything she said. From what I’ve experienced with legit medical services (quite a few times, mind you), none of them ever ring from a call centre number - so yeah, pretty clear this was just spam.

From what I can tell on the map, this call came from the same spot as another dodgy number, 01707819565, that called me just the day before. Both the comments and the profile linked to these numbers look identical. Seems like these scammers keep switching numbers but call the same people over and over, bothering them nonstop for a bit, then disappear for a couple of months before coming back again. It’s definitely some sort of scam, so best to be careful.
