I got calls from this number a bunch of times within like 15 minutes, even though I kept hanging up. The voice on the line sounded African and was asking stuff about my credit card purchases. Felt really dodgy, so I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

Got a call today from 02840400104, someone pretending to be from Barclaycard's fraud dept. At first I thought it was legit since they even sent me a text from the same number Barclaycard usually uses, warning about unusual activity on my card. While still chatting, I quickly googled the number and it wasn’t listed as anything to do with Barclays. I ended the call then rang the official Barclaycard fraud line from their site and managed to call them out before any damage was done.
