Had a call from a number I didn’t recognise and I just let it ring out. No voicemail was left, which makes me think it’s probably dodgy. After seeing what others have said here, I’m definitely putting it on my block list.

Number didn't show up on BT Call Guardian, so I'm guessing it was a scam or some dodgy call centre. Anyway, I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

I don’t bother picking up now unless they leave a voicemail, if there’s no message it’s obviously not worth my time. I did answer one call once and they said there was something wrong with my internet. I told them I work for Openreach as a technician and they quickly hung up on me. What a load of muppets!

This number called me earlier but I didn’t pick up. I checked 1471 to see who it was, then looked it up here and, sure enough, my suspicions were right. Honestly, they really ought to crack down on these annoying calls.

I received a rather puzzling phone call today from a lady with a distinctly foreign accent, who insisted she was representing BT. She claimed that my IP address had somehow been implicated in a breach of government systems, threatening that my internet and landline would be cut off within a day unless I provided her with specific information. This marks the third time I've had a chat with this number over the last couple of days, yet here I am, still connected, much to my astonishment! When I inquired about her name, she replied with "Mary Smith." One can’t help but think, what an unusual choice, considering her accent!

Got calls from 02830800019 today and 020836 8545 yesterday. Proper annoying. I’m really thinking about ditching my landline altogether - could save a bit cash and spare myself the hassle.

I've been getting those annoying robo calls about some nonsense with IP address hacking too. Absolute rubbish if you ask me. I’ve pretty much just started ignoring my landline now. Might be easier to just chuck it out altogether.

I got calls just like loads of others mentioned, but mine were from 0208 362 8545. I hung on until the recorded message finished. The first time, a woman with a foreign accent spoke, then next a guy with an English accent started chatting. I told them to jog on, quit scamming folk, and slammed the phone down. After that, they phoned four more times, but I just didn't pick up. This morning, I saw a call from the same number again but ignored it. I've reported everything to BT via their scam report page.

I've received multiple calls from a woman who says her name is Kate, insisting that my IP address has been tampered with and that I ought to ring them for clarification. It's incredibly frustrating! They’ve bombarded me with three calls within just three hours. I really wish they’d cease with this nonsense!

Got a call telling us that our internet had been taken over and was being used by another person. They asked for details but spoke to my husband instead. He told them he’d ring back later just to shut them down. What a complete con!

This number keeps ringing my 94-year-old aunt and it’s causing her quite a bit of distress. She’s baffled as to who it might be and what their intentions are. It’s high time that both the government and phone companies took action to curb these irritating calls; there are simply too many con artists about these days.

got a prerecorded voice saying my computer and internet had been hacked by the government and that my internet and landline would be cut off unless i called back a certain number. then some guy with an indian accent came on saying the same stuff. he asked if i was the one who handled the internet here, i told him no. next he asked about my router details but i just said i have no idea. i asked him for a number to call back later but he refused to give me any. eventually, he just dropped the call.

Got a robocall with a really hard-to-make-out voice telling me there’s internet issues. Thing is, our connection’s been fine, so I’m pretty certain it’s just a scam.
