I picked up the phone, and just as I did, the person on the other end dropped the call. What’s the deal with that?

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who asked straight for me. He claimed they'd be lowering my phone charges in the coming weeks. I told him I wasn’t keen and reckoned it sounded dodgy. He mentioned something about being a legit British company based in Middlesex, but I wasn’t buying it. I asked him to take me off their calling list and then he just dropped the call. From the numbers I’ve seen before, I reckon they go by the name Imperial Telecom or something like that.
