Yesterday, I got a few calls, about four, all this same scam where they act like they're from social services or something. I ended up blocking them through my BT blocking feature.

Got repeated calls from the number 02827827654 on 27th August 2018, rang about 7 times throughout the day. My wife picked up the first time, and the caller seemed to be Asian and oddly knew her last name. She quickly hung up, then I blocked the number straight away. After that, it tried calling six more times but since it’s blocked, it only managed to ring once each time. This kind of scam call nonsense is just ridiculous now - why can’t BT sort this out or maybe get the Police to step in?

Got two calls from this number just an hour apart yesterday. The first time it was a guy with an Indian accent saying something about stopping nuisance calls, then later I got an automated woman’s voice. Wow, these calls just keep coming non stop. I’m getting nearly 3 or 4 every day! You’d think BT could step in and shut this down, maybe even take legal action. Next time I answer, I’m planning to keep them on the line for as long as possible. I’m pretty skilled at dragging things out when I’m bored anyway. Honestly, I see it as doing the community a favour by keeping these persistent callers busy. Still, my friend holds the record with a 57 minute marathon call - haven’t managed to top that yet!
