I got a call from someone threatening that I had just 24 hours to pay a tax or else. Total scam, obviously.

This looks like one of those HMRC scams, watch out!

I was told not to get rid of the message cause it was kinda voice line sensitive or something, sounded a bit like Stephen Hawking talking.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC fraud department, saying there was a case against me for tax evasion linked to past tax returns. Since I'm a payroll manager and know I’m not meant to file tax returns myself, I asked a few questions to see if it was legit. After that, I just hung up. Funny enough, while I was typing this, the same number called again but this time pretending to be BT, warning me my internet and phone would be cut off today unless I paid up. Definitely dodgy!

Got a call that seemed like one of those robotic warnings about tax evasion. I didn’t hang around to hear the whole spiel cause I’m sure I haven’t done anything dodgy with HMRC. Don’t let these things scare you, it’s just rubbish!

I picked up and it was just a voicemail. They said it was important and time sensitive.
