Just received a call from this number, but I never answer. Honestly, that’s the worst move you can make, as it merely indicates to them that your number is legitimate, which means they’ll sell it off to every ne’er-do-well out there. Here’s a tip that’s served me well: inform all your genuine contacts to ring you for the first few rings before hanging up. Once you catch that, dial 1471 to find out who’s been on the other end, and then you can call back those decent humans you actually know. If you use 1471 on a dubious number that seems to ring endlessly, you can jot it down and have a look on Google to unearth which scoundrels have tried to hook you into wasting your time and adding a bit of stress to your day. I reckon over 95% of calls nowadays fall into this category. Got a call from a bloke, sounded Asian, asking the typical questions that dragged on for ages. Every now and then he’d say “last 30 seconds” but it never was. He hung up, then called again, I just ignored it and put the phone down. Next thing, he’s ringing back saying “last 30 seconds” again. I just switched off the call once more. When he called a third time, I warned him straight up that if he didn’t quit, I’d report him for misusing the phone system and harassing me.

I got a call from someone with an Asian accent but they just ended the call straight away. Later, I tried ringing the same number back using 1471, but it wouldn’t go through, said the number wasn’t valid or something.

I got a call from this number earlier today, and I’d never seen it pop up before. As soon as I picked up, the call just dropped. Out of curiosity, I looked the number up online, and the first review I read was pretty alarming. Someone said the person on the other end asked loads of questions and then tried to get their bank info. Thankfully, they didn’t hand over anything, but I reckon this number deserves a caution here.

Got a bizarre call from a bloke who said his name was some English-sounding thing that he barely managed to say properly. He wanted me to do some “survey” and try to get info out of me. I just ended the call and put the number straight on block.

I've been getting calls from this number constantly, and I usually just let it ring. But tonight, out of sheer curiosity, I thought I’d pick up and have a chat, hoping it might put an end to it. The chap on the other end was conducting a consumer survey, which seemed fairly standard at first. He rattled off the usual stuff, like confirming my address, asking if I'm a homeowner, my job status, and whether I’m married or not. It all felt quite routine until he started probing about children-nothing too alarming there. But then, he got really specific, asking if I owned a dog, its age, and even what it’s called. At that point, I started feeling uneasy, as though he was sizing up my situation. Now I'm in a right state worrying that he might have ulterior motives! I fabricated some details about the dog, but can anyone please assure me that I’m being silly and they won’t come knocking at my door?

Just had a call from an Asian chap who was asking all the typical questions-like my age, if I’m married, what I do for work, and whether I own my home. Out of the blue, he then inquired, "Could I have your bank account number?" Naturally, I told him there was no way I was sharing that. He sounded taken aback and repeated the question, only to finally say “alright, bye” before abruptly ending the call. Quite the cheek!

I received a call this evening, where the caller insisted it was not a survey but merely sought my thoughts. Isn’t that essentially the same thing? Or am I just confused? They were incredibly persistent, and rather rude when I declined to engage with their queries. I’m utterly fed up with these incessant calls! They even threatened to keep phoning until I complied. This surely amounts to harassment. My 89-year-old father is currently unwell, and I need to be available by the phone at all times, yet these interruptions are truly distressing. They show no regard for my situation whatsoever.

I’ve had this number ring my landline multiple times, always looking for me but hanging up if I don’t answer. On three different occasions when I did pick up, it was a chap with a thick accent. They greet you by name and then launch into their spiel. As soon as I ask who they are, they start rushing through their words, insisting that the call will be quick. I've now made it clear that I’m not interested and requested them to remove my number from their records. It’s absolutely infuriating that these individuals or businesses keep pestering people, disregarding a firm 'no'. I can only imagine how distressing this must be for elderly folks living alone. I’m utterly exasperated with this number that just won't quit! They've been ringing me off the hook at all hours of the day - I had yet another four calls today alone, the last one coming through at 29 minutes past eight this evening. Honestly, it’s driving me up the wall! I can't bear the incessant nonsense about their surveys. In addition, I keep getting bombarded with calls regarding solar panels, energy suppliers, and pip claims, not to mention other rubbish. I’ve simply had enough of it all!

I got called like 7 times all before lunch! I tried telling them to stop but they just kept pushing, even got a bit rude. On the last call, I ended up blowing a whistle loudly into the phone, and after that, they never called again. Now, I always have that whistle next to my phone just in case.

this number rings me up all the time, and it's some guy with an Indian accent saying he’s from savings preferences, claiming they’re not trying to sell anything. i’ve been clear with them, told them i’m not interested in their questions and i’m really sick of their calls. no matter how many times i say it, they keep pushing to finish their survey and ignore my requests to stop. eventually they just hang up, but then the calls come back from other numbers and different voices. it’s so frustrating! does anyone know what i can do about this?

Got a call from some Indian guy asking if I was miss ##### (which is my partner's last name). When I told him no and asked who he was, he suddenly got all angry and told me not to waste his time. I said back, “Actually, you’re the one wasting my time with these pointless spam calls,” and just hung up on him.

If it happens again, I’m thinking of holding them on the line and trying to find out where they’re calling from - honestly might even go to the address and sort it myself. These calls really drive me mad!
