Even though I've signed up for the telephone preference service, this number just keeps ringing me 6 to 10 times daily. So, I switched up my answerphone greeting to say something like, "If you're a telemarketer or just an unwanted call, you're lucky I'm not around because I'd hang up straight away! For anyone else, please leave your message after the beep." And honestly, it really works! They hang up before I even finish the message. My mates had a good laugh and have started using the same trick. This caller is a total pain. If i were you, i'd look up some reviews for the BT8500 phone before buying. It's been brilliant for me - now I just block the number 02081234567 and loads of other annoying spam calls. If the £49.99 (or £79.99 for a pair) seems steep, maybe save up for it, cos honestly, having peace of mind around these types is priceless. I wouldn't mind paying a lot more for it, no joke.

When I tried ringing them back, the operator kept saying the number doesn’t exist. What I do, and it’s worked well, is get my mates to let the phone ring about 4 or 5 times then hang up. After that, I use 1471 to check who called. That way, I only call back proper people I know. For strange numbers that keep buzzing endlessly, I jot them down and Google them - usually it's some muppet trying to waste my time or stress me out. Got a call from a bloke, sounded Asian, asking the typical questions that dragged on for ages. Every now and then he’d say “last 30 seconds” but it never was. He hung up, then called again, I just ignored it and put the phone down. Next thing, he’s ringing back saying “last 30 seconds” again. I just switched off the call once more. Got a call round 6.30 pm and all I heard was a woman singing a bit of a tune I couldn't place, then she just ended the call.

Got a bizarre call from a bloke who said his name was some English-sounding thing that he barely managed to say properly. He wanted me to do some “survey” and try to get info out of me. I just ended the call and put the number straight on block.

This number kept calling me non-stop, and I usually just let it ring out, but tonight I figured I’d answer to see if it would stop bothering me. It sounded like one of those consumer surveys, so I went along with it. They asked the usual stuff - my address, if I owned the home, my job, marital status, kids and all that. Then things got a bit weird when they asked if I had a dog, if it was a puppy and the dog’s name. That made me uneasy, like they were trying to scope out who lives here. I fibbed about the dog just in case. Honestly, now I’m feeling pretty anxious and hope they’re not planning to come round or anything! Can someone tell me I’m overthinking this?

Got a call a few minutes ago from an Asian guy who started off with the typical stuff like asking how old I am, if I’m married, what I do for work and if I own my place. Then out of nowhere he asks for my bank account number! I wasn’t having any of it and said no. He sounded surprised, asked one more time, then just said okay, goodbye and ended the call.

Got a call this evening from someone who claimed it wasn’t a survey but wanted my opinion instead. Honestly, isn’t that just a fancy way of saying the same thing? They were really pushy and got quite rude when I said I didn’t want to answer. I’m fed up of these constant calls! They even said they wouldn’t stop bothering me until I gave them answers. Feels like blatant harassment to me. My dad’s 89 and very poorly right now, so I’ve got to stay close to the phone, and these calls just make things worse. They really don’t care about how this affects you.

I’ve had this number ring me a few times and whenever I couldn’t pick up, they just dropped the call. But when I did answer on a few different occasions, it’s always men with foreign accents. They ask for me by name then straight away start firing questions. When I ask who they are, they rush to say it won’t take long. I’m always quick to say I’m not interested and that they should take me off the list. Honestly, these companies should face penalties for pestering people and ignoring when you say no. I'm absolutely sick of this number, they keep ringing me at the most random times. Today alone they called me 4 times, last one was at 9:18 pm. Can't handle these never-ending calls asking me to do surveys. Plus, I get calls about solar panels, energy suppliers, and PIP claims too. Honestly, I've had enough of all of them!

I get calls from them almost every day, like three or four times daily, and it’s really irritating. I’m not keen on picking up the phone at all. Luckily, I’ve got caller ID, so I can decide whether to answer or not, but sometimes I do pick up hoping it’s someone I actually know :(.

I got called like 7 times all before lunch! I tried telling them to stop but they just kept pushing, even got a bit rude. On the last call, I ended up blowing a whistle loudly into the phone, and after that, they never called again. Now, I always have that whistle next to my phone just in case.

this number rings me up all the time, and it's some guy with an Indian accent saying he’s from savings preferences, claiming they’re not trying to sell anything. i’ve been clear with them, told them i’m not interested in their questions and i’m really sick of their calls. no matter how many times i say it, they keep pushing to finish their survey and ignore my requests to stop. eventually they just hang up, but then the calls come back from other numbers and different voices. it’s so frustrating! does anyone know what i can do about this?

Got a call from some Indian guy asking if I was miss ##### (which is my partner's last name). When I told him no and asked who he was, he suddenly got all angry and told me not to waste his time. I said back, “Actually, you’re the one wasting my time with these pointless spam calls,” and just hung up on him.

I told them right away that I’m disabled and asked them to remove me from their call list, but now I’m getting about eight calls each day. If it happens again, I’m thinking of holding them on the line and trying to find out where they’re calling from - honestly might even go to the address and sort it myself. These calls really drive me mad!
