Over the last ten days, I've had this number call me 13 times. They left a voicemail a few times, but honestly, I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I tried calling them back, but nobody picked up. Feels like some kind of relentless scam to me.

That number has blown up my phone like 10 times over the last couple of days. I tried calling it back once, it rang for a bit and then just cut off. Tried again but this time using my work phone while my mobile was still buzzing, same thing happened - rings a few times, then gone. Definitely dodgy, probably a scam. I wouldn’t pick up if I were you.

I just don’t get why genuine people calling don’t bother leaving a voice message. If they did, next time I get a ring from that number I’d feel sure it’s safe to pick up. But when all they do is ring and then nothing, it just makes me wary. Wouldn’t it be easier for them to drop a quick text to say why they phoned in the first place?

I chose not to pick up, and there was no voicemail or anything left. Feels a bit dodgy!

They didn’t leave any message, so I figured it might be some telemarketer. The number wasn’t on this site, so I rang it back just to see what they’d say before I made any complaint. Turns out it was an automated message from Wesfarmers about the planned Coles demerger. Since I own shares in Wesfarmers, it seems pretty genuine to me. It’s a shame people automatically assume unknown calls are spam. Still, it wouldn’t be too much trouble for them to leave a message.
