Got a call from a bloke who gave his name as "Jack", said he was ringing from Microsoft about some problem with my computer access. A guy with an Indian accent called me, claiming my PC was hacked and asked me to jot down a long string of numbers. I immediately knew it was a load of rubbish but acted like I'd written it all down. Then he wanted me to read it back and insisted I sit in front of my computer so he could “help” secure my info. I told him he'd reached a police station by mistake and that the call was on record! He shouted, "See you in court, Mother F****r!" and slammed the phone down. Honestly, do they honestly think we're all mugs?

That number kept ringing me up three times all in one day. First it was early at like 7:45, then again around 9 in the morning, and once more after lunch. Honestly, I just ended up hanging up straight away.

Early this morning, about 8 o’clock, someone called claiming to be Alan from Windows. He spoke with quite a strong Asian accent and mentioned there was something wrong with my computer. I wasn’t aware of any problems and told him that before ending the call. I needed to get on with breakfast anyway! Normally, we let unknown calls go straight to voicemail, but that time I thought it might be urgent. Turns out, it wasn’t worth the bother!

I keep getting calls from this number and a few others too. My phone’s got caller ID, which is a lifesaver, so if a number pops up that’s unfamiliar, I just let it ring out. I always leave my voicemail turned on, but these callers never bother to leave a message. If it was really important, surely they’d leave one? No message means it’s not worth my time. I didn't dial them, so why would I bother returning the call?
