I received a call from a gentleman with an Indian accent who claimed that my computer had been compromised. He insisted I jot down an extensive number on some paper. Right away, I sensed it was a scam but feigned compliance. When he requested I read the number back, he urged me to sit at my computer so he could guide me on safeguarding my personal details. I cleverly informed him that he had actually called a Police Station by accident and that the conversation was being recorded. His response was quite colourful: "I'll see you in Court, you Mother F*****," before promptly disconnecting. Honestly, do they really believe we’re that gullible?

So someone named 'Jason' rang me, saying he was from Microsoft. He told me to look up my computer licence ID which was 888 DCA60-FCOA and said I shouldn't share it with anyone. Then he offered to help me verify if my licence was still valid if I went on my PC. What a total scammer! Proper dodgy behaviour.

I've received three calls from that number all in the same day! The first one came through at a rather early 7:45, followed by another at 9:00am, and then one more after lunch. In the end, I just decided to hang up the phone.

Early this morning, about 8 o’clock, someone called claiming to be Alan from Windows. He spoke with quite a strong Asian accent and mentioned there was something wrong with my computer. I wasn’t aware of any problems and told him that before ending the call. I needed to get on with breakfast anyway! Normally, we let unknown calls go straight to voicemail, but that time I thought it might be urgent. Turns out, it wasn’t worth the bother!

I keep getting calls from this number and a few others too. My phone’s got caller ID, which is a lifesaver, so if a number pops up that’s unfamiliar, I just let it ring out. I always leave my voicemail turned on, but these callers never bother to leave a message. If it was really important, surely they’d leave one? No message means it’s not worth my time. I didn't dial them, so why would I bother returning the call?
