At 10:38 on July 17th, 2013, my phone abruptly started ringing. It was a mysterious call with no sound on the other end.

Today at 13:00, someone dialed my telephone number registered with the TPS. As usual, I chose not to answer the call, just like I always do. Echoing what others have mentioned, these persistent callers eventually give up, only to be replaced by different pranksters in a matter of days! It's quite frustrating to have a landline these days. The most important thing to remember is to never answer these calls!

A caller made a mistake in pronouncing my husband's ex-wife's name, which irritated me. I expressed my frustration towards the caller and his connection to Miss Smith, resulting in him hanging up the call. I am also registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). I have discovered a method to retaliate against these individuals: by deliberately consuming as much of their time as I can. I achieve this by requesting them to repeat things slowly, asking numerous questions, et cetera. Just before I suspect they are about to hang up, I express my discontent using offensive language. Ultimately, these "surveys" are conducted in order to more precisely target you with marketing calls. While you may perceive my approach as a waste of my time, it is worth noting that a portion of my time is already being wasted by these bothersome calls. Interestingly, it appears that since employing this tactic, I receive fewer nuisance calls than before.

At 14:35, my phone rang but the number displayed was unfamiliar, and as a result, I chose not to pick up. No voicemail was left. Despite being registered with TPS, I continue to receive annoying phone calls. If this particular number decides to call again, I plan to answer and use my football referee's whistle as a deterrent. Today, on the 13th of July 2013 at 11:14, I received a phone call. The line was silent for a brief period and then a woman with an Asian accent asked for me by my name. Instead of responding, I chose to remain silent. The person proceeded to go through the usual scripted lines such as "How are you today?" and "Can I have a few minutes of your time, etc." Sensing it was another unwanted telemarketer, I quickly hung up the phone. Curious, I attempted to call the number back whilst withholding my own number, but received a voicemail message stating "The number you have dialled has not been recognised." It is worth noting that despite being registered with TPS and consistently ticking the box on application forms that explicitly states my personal information should not be shared with third parties, I am still receiving these unwanted calls.

Earlier this morning, around 9:30 AM, a call came through in which a gentleman asked for me specifically by name. I informed him that I was unavailable and asked if I could take a message instead. Surprisingly, the caller abruptly ended the call without providing any further information.
