Got a call at 8.30 in the morning and it’s not the first time. Loads of times they hang up as soon as I speak or just leave you waiting on the line. I’m pension age so it’s really upsetting, especially since some have been quite rude. With grandkids who have health issues, I have no choice but to pick up. Got a call from an Asian lady who completely butchered my name (which is pretty common here), claiming she was aware of all the nuisance calls going around. I told her that her call was exactly that and asked if she felt ashamed working for a firm that wastes people’s time, lies, and scams honest Brits (which I reckon was her usual spiel). My dad, he’s 83, got tricked by a call that came from a different number but it was the same scam. I reported it when it happened, but they still managed to take £99 off him. Now he’s a bit more careful, but this number here just rang him again with the exact same tale. It’s crazy that these calls keep slipping through despite all the complaints. They’re really annoying, keep calling every day. Got a call twice in two days from someone claiming to be from a Government supported Calling Prevention Service. A woman with a strong Asian accent, called Fiona (maybe Scottish Asian?) asked for personal info. I only told her my first name and stopped. She left a number 0800 0869345 which when I called back, had a recorded message with an American voice telling me to press zero. I didn’t bother after that. Using 1471, it showed the original caller’s number as 02548996357.

Sadly, I can’t block those from outside the country, so whenever I get a dodgy call from a hidden number, I usually figure it’s from abroad. Lately though, this number has been ringing me around 8:30 in the morning quite a few times. They never leave a voicemail, but at least I get to see the number they’re using. It’s more irritating than anything threatening.

This number rang me at about 8.30 this morning, saying my phone company had complained about me getting spam calls - exactly like from them! They already had my name, address and phone number but then asked for my credit card expiry date, saying it was wrong. They put me through to someone else called Jessica after that, but I just ended the call. Right after, the first guy rang back fuming that I’d hung up and asked why, so I told him he was a scammer. Got a call where it just rang and then went quiet, then a woman said "Goodbye". So irritating, this has happened to me loads of times. When I tried ringing back, all I got was some weird sound.

Got a call at about 8.45 this morning from someone saying they worked with the telephone preference service to block international cold calls. Strangely, they already had all my personal info, even though the number’s brand new and we’ve only shared it with our GP and a couple of family members. Makes you think how they got hold of that. They’re the only ones who’ve cold called us since we got the line set up 4 weeks ago. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

I never picked up at first, but a couple days later they ring back telling me that I’ve been receving nuisance calls - which is a bit rich considering they’re the ones doing it! Honestly, I tend to keep them chatting for as long as I can, at least it stops them bugging someone else who might fall for it.

Got a call today from a guy with an Indian accent who said he was from BT tps and that if I paid £10 a month he could block all the spam calls. When I told him he was actually an unwanted call, he just kept insisting he could get my name removed from the red list. He said the red list was the reason I got calls from all sorts of people. Sounds like a scam to me.

Got a really annoying call earlier. The phone went off, I answered and all I could hear was a load of beeping. I checked the last number that called me using 1471 and saw it was from some government heat saving advisor about 15 mins before. When I asked which part of the government they were from, the person just hung up. Proper frustrating!

Some bloke said his name was Dave or John and said he was ringing from some marketing firm or something?! I just hung up, then used my £19.99 call blocker from Amazon to ban him. It’s way cheaper and never lets them through. I even set it to block all overseas calls too.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he could block all the nuisance calls I get. To prove it was really me, he asked for my credit card details. He wanted the expiry date and the first 12 digits on the front of the card, saying the last four digits weren’t needed for security reasons. Then, he asked for the 7 digits on the back, which actually include the last 4 digits of the card number plus the 3-digit CVV code. Pretty much everything they need to go on a shopping spree with my card! Tried that on me? No way, mate!

Today this number tried ringing me but it never actually came through! We ended up getting a BT call blocker phone from Argos for £65, plus a monthly fee of £2. Honestly, it’s brilliant! The scammers don’t even get a chance to ring on our side! Totally worth the cost! The telephone preference service only stops calls from within the UK, but most scam calls come from abroad, so it’s pretty pointless. Get one of these phones and say goodbye to annoying scam calls for good!

Some woman with a foreign accent was asking about the woman who used to live here like 17 years back. I told her that she doesn’t live here anymore. Then she claimed to be from TPS and said she could stop annoying calls. After that, she wanted my personal info. I just ended the call right there.

Twice today this number has rang me. The first call was from a woman with an Asian accent, then a guy with a similar accent called after. They said they were from some Call Prevention Service. I've decided to block the number now.

Got a call from "Frank Watson" speaking with a thick Indian accent. He was going on about lifetime cover for pensioners who always pay their bills! Said it was free - though we didn’t get that far. He gave me a number 0800 086 9345 and said he was connected with BT and TPS, but he had old info about me. I told him I’d call back. Still waiting for that call, Frank!!!! A lady phoned me saying she was going to put an end to the annoying calls. I asked her where she got my number from and told her it wasn’t the calls that annoyed me, it was the people making them. Would you believe it? She just hung up on me.

This number 02548996357 rang my dad this morning at about 9.16 am. He missed the call but noted down the number and asked if I knew who it was. I checked online and saw loads of other complaints about it, so told him to avoid answering if it rings again. My dad is on the TPS list too, so he shouldn’t be getting these calls at all. How do these calls still get through? Feels like they’re just pestering older people!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent earlier today, 16/02/17. He asked if he could speak to the owner of the number, I told him no. Then he insisted on speaking to Mr so-and-so, again I said no. He threatened to block my calls, to which I just told him to do whatever he wants and ended the call. It’s awful how these people target the more trusting. I’m getting loads of rubbish calls recently. Been signed up with the Telephone Preference Service for over 40 years and it hardly makes any difference.

I'm getting really fed up with these callers who keep ringing me. It's always someone from Pakistan or India claiming they can stop unwanted calls, and I tell them straight up, YOU should stop calling ME first, can YOU block your own number? There's always a pause, then they carry on blabbering, so I just hang up. Another time, as soon as they asked for me (no idea how they got my name and address), I just said "hang on" and put the phone down next to me. I let it ring for a bit, probably so they could hear everything - quite funny really. They waste my time, so I waste theirs, lol.

This number has been calling me quite a bit. Not sure if it’s a scam, but it seems like they’re trying to get you to join some sort of call blocking scheme. The person on the line already had my name, address and card info, which was a bit unsettling. I’ve blocked the number now, you might want to do the same.

Some guy with an Indian accent called me, claiming he worked for some marketing firm (didn't quite catch the company). He said he could stop all those annoying cold calls I keep getting. I just chuckled and asked if he was serious. When he asked why, I told him, "You’re trying to block cold calls, but you're one yourself?" I told him to do us both a favour and remove my number from his list, then I ended the call!

Got a call today just after 1.30pm from someone claiming to be from the Call Preference Service. They said I was getting loads of nuisance calls and somehow knew my name, address, and even that I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Then they handed me over to someone else who started asking for my card's expiry date. At that point, I hung up. Now I’m thinking it might be linked to another call I had yesterday from someone with an Indian accent who said they were from BT and warned me my internet would be cut off. I caught on it was a scam and told them I wasn’t interested, at which point the woman shouted some awful abuse at me and slammed the phone down!

Some absolute nightmare just tricked my disabled mother-in-law, saying they could block all those pesky spam calls with a 'premium service'... yeah right! They managed to swipe £30, then £99 just minutes apart from her card. Lucky we got it cancelled in time or it would’ve been way worse. Such vile people out there.

Spoke to an Indian woman who was really rude and pushy. She didn’t ask for money but scared a 98-year-old woman so much she ended up locking her door and skipping a community get-together. It’s so worrying for older and vulnerable people, whoever’s making these calls should seriously feel ashamed of themselves!

This woman said she was from a government supported firm working with the TPS. She refused to talk to me since I wasn’t the account holder for the phone, but mentioned some kind of update about loads of spam calls we've been getting. I don’t know who exactly gave her that update, and when I told her I’d be the one to report any nuisance calls, she hung up straight away. Didn’t even get the chance to hear about payments, but I got a feeling that was the next step!

Just got off the phone with them, and things took a really weird turn. The bloke started saying some nasty stuff, even talking about my daughter in a creepy way. I hung up straight away, but they keep calling me again and again. Really annoying!

Got a couple of calls yesterday from the same number. They wanted me to verify my name, address, and even how to spell my first name, but I didn't go along with it. They claimed they were partnered with the preference calling service to stop calls from abroad. When I asked if there was a payment involved, they said "no weekly, no monthly, no yearly fees, just a one-time registration charge." I wasn’t convinced, said right, cheers, and ended the call. Later on, they left a silent message on my voicemail.
