Foolishly, I answered some questions about our energy provider. Since then, I've had to cancel all our bank cards. So, I did the 1471 trick and was surprised to find an actual number, but decided not to ring back, thinking it was probably some sort of scam. Just now, they rang again and I picked up. There was a weird silence for a bit, then when I asked who it was, a lady with a foreign accent said “good evening” before hanging up. Such a hassle. We’re on the TPS list, so surely this has to be against the rules.

Today, this number called my landline three times. Luckily, I have a BT call blocker phone - honestly, the £50 spent on it was worth every penny! When I asked them who they were, they refused to say, so the phone just blocked them straight away. Seriously, get yourself one of those call blocking phones and don’t give out any info to unknown callers. Whenever a dodgy caller sneaks through and starts their spiel, I just ask "how did you get my number?" and they usually hang up. Other times I tell them, "we don't talk to strangers on the phone, goodbye". Give it a go, it really works.
