There was quite a ruckus on the line-like I was either in a call centre or an active kids' play area! The person on the other end had a distinct foreign accent which made it incredibly difficult to grasp what they were trying to pitch. It seemed to revolve around receiving a refund related to contributions made to a pension plan. I decided it was best to end the conversation abruptly. - caller: Male, sounding of Indian descent.

I received a rather intrusive call from someone claiming they could help me cut costs on my life insurance. When I requested to be removed from their calling list, the person on the other end questioned my reasoning. I mentioned that they always seem to ring at the most inconvenient moments, especially with a six-month-old baby in the house. The response I got was laced with sarcasm! To make matters worse, I foolishly admitted that I didn’t have life insurance, to which the caller retorted with an insensitive remark, implying that I must not have children. What an excellent way to make someone feel inadequate as a parent!
