4 yearsI received a call from someone who claimed to be from BT, which piqued my interest since they happen to be my internet service provider at the moment. I decided to pick up the phone. The person on the other end, describing himself as an operator, insisted he needed to talk about an issue with my broadband and some security concerns he supposedly observed on my computer. To be honest, he seemed rather suspicious and spoke with a thick accent that sounded foreign.BT4 yearsGot a call from this number a couple of times but I never picked up. They didn't bother leaving a voicemail either, so I just figured it was probably some kind of scam.4 yearsGot calls from 02476735608 twice this morning around 7:30 am, weirdly just silent with some voices that sounded like they were asian, but no-one was actually talking. Pretty odd!4 yearsthis lady called julie, sounded asian, told me there were issues with my internet. she kept asking when id last used it and on which device. but i was actually online at that moment, so i knew it was all working okay.Julie4 yearsGot a call claiming to be from BT about my internet. I cut the bloke off and, in a proper Bobby Ball style (RIP to the legend), called him a “right liar”. Honestly, it cheered me up a bit!BTBobby Ball4 yearsI had calls from two separate individuals claiming they'd check the security on my broadband and computer. Both insisted they were with Openreach. You could hear what sounded like office chatter in the background, people chatting on phones and all. Just before I hung up, one of them asked for my bank info and which cards I had, plus who with. They also tried to get me to pay a £2.90 fee using card or PayPal. That was enough for me. Earlier, the name "Ultra Surf Security" kept popping up on my screen too.4 yearsToday, my landline got a call from 02476735608. A lady with an asian accent said she was from the BT tech team and wanted me to do a speed test on my internet. I was suspicious straight away, something about it didn’t feel right. Told her I’m not about to give any info over the phone, no chance. Could tell it was a scam from the off.BT4 yearsGot a call from someone called Brian, said he was from BT about broadband. He couldn’t answer any of my questions and just sounded like he was reading off a script. When I started asking more, he just ended the call. Anyone else getting these? Would be great if something could be done to block these annoying calls!BrianB. T.4 yearsPicked up the phone and before I could say anything, the caller just disconnected. Really annoying.4 yearsGot a call at 8:37 this morning, lucky my call blocker stopped it ringing through. I’m an old lady and it’s really annoying to be woken up that early. Definitely felt like a scam, especially since they claimed to be from BT but I don’t even have BT services. When will these scammers learn we’re not falling for it?BT4 yearsOn 23rd February 2022, I got a call from 02476735608 claiming to be from BT Openreach. When I picked up, there was a short pause before a bloke with an Asian accent came on the line. He asked how I was and said his name, saying he worked for BT Openreach. He told me there'd been some dodgy activity detected on my BT broadband recently, suggesting hackers had managed to get in. He insisted he was really from BT Openreach, but I wasn’t convinced and hung up. He called again a couple of minutes later, but I didn’t answer the second time.BT Openreach4 yearsGot a call from someone with an Asian accent, sounded a bit fishy, probably a scam.4 yearsSomeone called saying my laptop was hacked or something like that.
