Got a call from someone asking if I was the owner of my BT landline. I wasn't too sure who it was, but I told them to stop calling because I don't deal with that stuff over the phone. Felt like it was dodgy, like they mighta been fishing for info to scam me or something.

Got two calls from this number today. The first time, there was a long pause before a voice appears, asking for me by my proper name. I didn’t reveal who I was, but I asked who they were instead. They said they were linked to BT Openreach and said my bill would go down next month. After listening for a bit, i ended the call. Then, about an hour and a half later, they rang back and i just picked up and hung up right away. Seems like a classic scam to me.

kept getting calls from a number with a coventry prefix but when i picked up nobody said anything and then the call just cut off, so seems like some kind of robocall. ended up blocking the number now.

I had almost the same thing happen to me - they took ages to pick up and then said they were from ‘Switch & Save’, which sounds a lot like ‘Uswitch’. They mentioned cheaper deals on phone and internet, then started asking how much I used my phone and what my bill was. I told them, how can you guarantee a cheaper deal if you don’t even know my usage or what I’m currently paying? That totally threw her off. Pretty sure it was some sort of scam, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from 0247668040 offering a cheaper phone line deal. When I started asking about the payment details, the person got annoyed and just ended the call. Sounds like a scam to me!

I got a call from 02476680405 and at first thought it was someone local since the number seemed familiar. When I picked up, there was silence for nearly 20 seconds before they spoke. Later I found out the call actually came from abroad, which made me question why the number looked like it was from my area. The person said they were from Virgin and asked for info to supposedly lower the price on my TV, broadband and phone package, even though I’d just recently updated it. I tried to ring Virgin myself for confirmation but couldn’t get through quickly enough.
