They never bothered to leave a voicemail message.

Got a call supposedly from Curry’s PC World promo team, but it was a scam. When I said I wasn’t interested, they just rang me back swearing and telling me to get lost. Proper dodgy!

I’m on Virgin Media with a sim-only mobile plan and got a call today around 1.45pm claiming to be from Virgin Media. The phone showed it was possibly spam and the number looked dodgy, so I was suspicious straight away. The annoying thing is, if you block that number, they just ring back from a different one. I think the calls are routed through a company called Twilio Ireland Ltd or something like that.

I seen a call from this number but didn’t answer it. Doesn’t look legit to me since I never share my phone with such callers. Probably just spam.

Somebody calling claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, so I told them to wait and started belting out a Christmas song - they ended up hanging up on me. Haha!

Got a call from some Indian lady trying to pitch an EE contract upgrade. I told her no thanks, gave a quick thanks and blocked the number straight away. Feels like the scam calls are ramping up lately!!

I picked up and there was just quiet on the other end, no one saying anything. After waiting around 20 seconds with nothing, I ended the call.

Some bloke from India rang saying he was from Carphone Warehouse or something. I told him I wasn’t interested and cut him off straight away. Then he went and blocked me. Bit odd really.

They claimed to be from Currys but their English was awful, could hardly understand a word.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent pretending to be from Virgin Media. Honestly, I just hope they find something better to do with their time. Number was 02475424891.

I gave the number a ring but no one answered.

Lately, there’s been a surge in cold-call scams, probably organised since early October. Just block the numbers and carry on with your day, knowing these crooks waste hours trying to con folks out of cash. If you’re feeling up to it, you could always report them as well.

Got a call from someone claiming to be EE, saying I had an outstanding bill. Problem is, I’m not even with EE! Total scam if you ask me.

I picked up on the third ring, after missing the first two. Stayed quiet for about half a minute and then just disconnected. Weird!

Don’t trust this number, it pretends to be from Curry’s. Definitely a scam, so best not to pick up or share any details.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to sell iPhones, saying he was from Curry's. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

The phone rang thrice, and on the third ring, I picked it up - but all I got was a long stretch of silence for more than half a minute before they abruptly disconnected!

Got a call from someone saying they were with EE's promo team, but when I told them I’d switched networks ages ago, they just asked which one I was with now.

Someone called me saying they were from Currys about a new phone deal. They mentioned an iPhone 14 PRO with some massive 45% off discount. Seemed too good to be true, and honestly felt a bit dodgy.

Got two calls from this number. The first time, it was just silence for a bit before hanging up. Then the second call, after a silent pause, a guy with an Indian accent came on and said he was from EE. He started talking about some new deal and asked if I was using an iPhone or a Samsung. I wasn’t in the mood to deal with it, so I told him I wasn’t interested and asked him not to call me back.

No idea who this was, but it was an unsolicited call that I really didn’t want. They left a voicemail with nothing on it, no name or anything, which just screams dodgy to me. I don’t know anyone from Coventry or from that company Twilio Ireland Ltd they mentioned. My phone showed it as a “Robocaller” on the network. Definitely blocked and reported. Be careful out there, folks.
