Got a call from someone saying they were from some big debt collection lot, asking for my personal info about money they said I owed to a finance firm. I didn’t hang about and just ended the call, then went ahead and blocked the number straight away.

He addressed me with a name that I typically use online and claimed that I had an outstanding debt that I was supposedly settling each month. He wanted me to verify that information. I remarked that since he had all the details, he ought to be aware of it already. Unsurprisingly, he ended the call abruptly. It’s clearly a scam. Interestingly, he sounded just like another fella who rang me yesterday from a Leeds number, 01135220184. Could they be brothers, perhaps? Both numbers are now blocked.
