I had a similar experience; my phone rang, and when I returned the call, I was met with nothing but background music. Not a single soul answered.

A woman rang me up asking for my first name and saying she was from my electricity company and wanted to swap my meter to help me save on bills. She asked a couple of security questions - the first being if I paid by direct debit or with a key. I told her that was a daft question since they should already know that and instead, she should prove it by telling me how I pay my electricity. She got a bit rattled and said she was going to hang up rather than coming up with a proper security question. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

I could make out some chatter in the background, seemingly from a call centre, yet nobody actually engaged with me.

This 02475000205 keeps ringing non stop, really annoying! When I answer no one says anything and if I try calling back its just music playing. If they dont knock it off soon I'm gonna report them to the cops and other officials. Pretty sure this is one of those scam calls trying to steal cash.

Picked up the call, and all I caught was the phrase “fifty quid” before they abruptly ended the conversation. Not impressed at all, so I’ve blocked the number.

Received a call from this lot saying they were from Economy Energy, wanting to switch me to a smart meter and dual tariff. I'm already with Economy Energy, so they asked a few things to check my details and current tariffs. I gave them my address and postcode, and they said my account number, phone number, name and date of birth. Then they asked for my address and postcode again, probably to sort out delivery. So yeah, guess we'll wait and see what happens.

Got a call from 02475000205 claiming to be Economy Energy, my electricity provider, asking if I wanted to switch my gas over to them. Without really thinking, I said yes and gave them my sort code and bank details. I quickly rang my bank and put a block on my account. Do you reckon they could have taken money if I hadn’t done that?

they just rang me. i tried ringing back and got put on this awful hold tune, sounded like some sort of nasty rats going mad or something! no one said who they were or what they wanted. seriously, dont answer this number if your head is pounding, it might finish you off. then again if you are hungover, you probs wont even recall any of it anyway.

I received a call from a heating firm that claimed my number was sourced from 'the Government.' When I informed them I'm registered with the TPS, they didn’t take it well and abruptly ended the call after I inquired about which department had supposedly shared my details. Quite shady, if you ask me!
