Today, I received a rather dodgy phone call claiming to be from BT, insisting that, as a cherished customer, I was entitled to three months of line rental for free. As they began probing for my bank details linked to my BT account, I promptly ended the conversation. No thanks, I thought!

Somebody rang me sounding like a chimp or something and then just cut me off straight away.

This number has rung me 4 times today. I picked up the first one, but there was just silence or it took ages for them to say anything. Really annoying.

Got a call from this number earlier today, but it was totally silent just like what I’ve seen others mention. Pretty weird!

Got a ring from this number this morning, but I didn't pick up. Reading the stuff other people said, it seems a bit fishy to me.

I got a phone call from this number earlier, and the guy on the other end had an Indian accent. He was telling me that because I’m a good bill payer, I could get free calls and three months line rental without paying anything. Then he said a postcode and asked if it was mine, but it wasn’t, so I got a bit wary and just ended the call.

On a Saturday morning around 8:30, I got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, just like some others mentioned. My advice? Just end the call straight away.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent around 3.30 this afternoon. He asked if I was the person who held the BT account. I told him straight up I don’t have a BT account and told him not to ring me again before ending the call.

It was 8 in the morning on a Saturday, and I didn't pick up, but I had to get out of bed just to see if it was anyone from family. Who actually calls that early on a weekend? Proper annoying.

Such a hassle, honestly I just end up hanging up on them.

This number has rung me twice today. The initial call was for my partner, but he wasn’t home. When I asked who was calling, the person claimed to be from BT accounts, but when I asked for details, they hung up straight away. The second call, they asked if I was Mrs Christine, and again, when I inquired who they were, the line was cut off. Both times, I checked the number by dialing 1471. It all feels very dodgy, and it’s probably a scam attempt, so I’ve labelled this number as risky.

i'd already flagged up this number twice today, but it called me again just now. a guy with an indian accent answered, even though the area code showed portsmouth. he claimed to be from bt billing and had my full name and address. he said that since we've been with bt for years, our line rental fees would be cut for feb, march, and april. he also mentioned we'd get a letter confirming this in the post. then he asked me for my direct debit details, and that’s when i decided to hang up, refusing to share anything.

Today, we received a couple of calls from this number. During the first call, the individual enquired for my partner. I requested to know the identity of the caller, and they claimed to be from BT accounts. After informing them that my partner wasn't in, I inquired about the purpose of their call, but they abruptly hung up. Fast forward two hours, and guess what? They rang again, this time asking for someone called Mrs Christine. I asked them who was on the line, and lo and behold, they disconnected just like that. I managed to get the phone number both times by calling 1471.
