The person said they were calling "on behalf of a local energy company" but never mentioned the actual name. They claimed they had a record showing I had fluffy loft insulation and that I qualified for a free replacement. When I asked how they knew I had a loft or that particular insulation, they said they’d have their manager ring me back to arrange an inspection. I requested some info be sent by post, but they said that wasn’t possible. Instead, they kept insisting their manager would call me to set up the loft inspection. I declined and ended the call.

Got a call from someone pretending to be an energy advisor, must've been a scam. The call started with an auto-dialler beep and then a weird silence. They said they knew the exact kind of loft insulation I had from some database, which I highly doubt. This isn’t the first time either, and despite me asking them to take my number off their list countless times, they keep calling back. Ended up blocking the number.

I got a call from someone who said he was an energy rep called "John" and claimed to be from my neighbourhood. When I asked him to specify the postcode, he didn’t give a straight answer and just kept going on about my loft insulation needing attention. It soon became clear that "John" was actually just a robotic voice. I told him “Bye, scammer” and the call cut off right away. After that, I put the number straight onto my call block list.

TOTAL SCAM alert. Got a call from someone calling himself "Matthew, your friendly energy consultant". He kept pushing me to hit 1 so I’d get through to another so-called expert who’d supposedly help me snag grants and discounts. But honestly, it felt like a classic trick to drain my bank if I fell for it. These scammers don't pick targets, just fishing for anyone. Best thing? Just hang up straight away and don’t give these fraudsters any chance.
